Quick Detials

An immersive certification program for coaches, practitioners, leaders, guides, and those called to transformational work.

Bridging profound inner shifts with real-world outcomes, for the practitioner and the people they serve.

September 2026 – March 2027 with AILA COATS & BARB PATTERSON

Founding cohort tuition $6,500.

The Problem

Why This Work Matters

Many practitioners know how to ask thoughtful questions, use frameworks, and help someone see something new. And yet, the live moments inside a conversation often ask more of us. A client becomes guarded, less responsive, overwhelmed, or uncertain. Something important is present beneath the words, but it is not yet clear what is needed. We may second-guess what we are seeing, reach for a technique, move too quickly, or hold back from what feels true.

Real transformational work asks more of us than intellectual understanding alone. It asks us to develop the capacity to meet people, life, and ourselves more honestly, skillfully, and fully.

To listen beneath the surface. To create spaces where people can tell the truth. To stay present in uncertainty. To work with the nervous system, embodiment, identity, emotion, insight, and real-life integration. To live what we teach.

Insight is powerful. But insight alone does not build a business, shift a relationship, or change how someone shows up in a room. The work lives at the bridge between seeing something new and learning to live from it.

The Practitioner’s Academy was created to develop practitioners who can meet that bridge with greater presence, discernment, skill, and trust.

Across the six months, you will strengthen your capacity to

The beliefs behind our approach

The Ground We Work From

Many approaches to development begin with the premise that something is missing or needs to be fixed. Our work begins somewhere different. We believe the capacity people are looking for is already present — beneath the conditioning, identities, and protective patterns that develop over a lifetime. Our role is to create the conditions where that deeper intelligence can become more visible, accessible, and trustworthy, allowing insight to become action and internal shifts to become meaningful change in the lives of practitioners and their clients.
R

The Capacity Is Already There

The work isn’t about fixing what’s missing, but creating the conditions for what’s already present to emerge.
R

The Practitioner Is Part of the Practice

Our ability to meet others deeply is inseparable from our willingness to continue seeing, growing, and living the work ourselves.
R

Insight Becomes Lived Change

Transformation happens when internal shifts become visible in how we work, relate, respond, and meet what matters.

Transformation isn’t a straight line

The Living Arc of Transformation

This is a living arc rather than a linear process. People may revisit different stages as insight deepens, familiar patterns reappear, and new levels of embodiment become available.
Awake

Seeing what was previously unseen: a pattern, assumption, identity, protection, or deeper truth becomes visible. A person begins to see beyond the familiar story of who they are and what is possible.

Align

Orienting toward what feels true and alive, new understanding begins to clarify what matters, what is wanted, and which direction is congruent.

Transfrom

Old beliefs & identities begin to loosen. What was never real falls away. The person develops the capacity to stay with change without immediately returning to the familiar.

Embody

Living from the new understanding, insight becomes increasingly available in real time, shaping choices, communication, actions, and how a person responds when life applies pressure.

Express

Bringing what has changed into the world. The internal shift becomes visible through relationships, leadership, creativity, contribution, client work, and meaningful outcomes.

Across the six months, you will strengthen your capacity to

Four foundational capacities for doing transformational work

The Four Pillars

The Academy is built on four pillars that work together as a whole. There are four dimensions of your development that deepen simultaneously over the six months, each informing and amplifying the others. Together, they address the full picture of what it means to grow as a practitioner: who you are in the work, how you do the work, what you build, and who you become through it.

The Practitioner

Your Being Fuels Your Doing
Everything begins here. This pillar is devoted to your personal evolution as a practitioner. The inner work, the embodiment of what you already know, the dissolution of the conditioning and protective patterns that limit your range. As your inner world deepens and settles, something naturally changes in how you show up with your clients, in your work, and in your life.

The Craft

The Art & Impact of Transformational Work
This is where you go inside the work itself. We will share and teach our full framework and the capacities that create real movement in the people you work with. We’ll explore how to guide, deepen, and hold space across the range of what clients bring, in one-on-one sessions, in groups, in person, and virtually.

Your Work in the World

Building from Alignment & Creative Intelligence
Whatever you’re building, how you build it matters. This pillar is about creating your work from the same place you’re learning to coach from. Grounded. Aligned. Resourced by something deeper than strategy alone. Build and express work that is truly yours. Clarify your vision, offerings, positioning, pricing, and relational approach to client creation or organizational impact.

The Container

A Living Laboratory for Your Wisdom, Growth & Expression
A rich, alive, and creative container that holds and amplifies a deeper connection to what wants to emerge through you. Reflection and guidance that illuminate your strengths and edges and build your capacity to hold powerful containers for those you serve. A community of practitioners walking this same path. Honest, awake, and in service to others.

Those ready to deepen their practice

Who Is This For?

The Practitioner’s Academy develops coaches, leaders, and practitioners who want to work from something deeper than technique and build a foundation they can trust in any room.

You feel called to transformational work, whether you’re just starting or bringing years of experience into it,
and you want a path that matches the depth of what you sense is possible. You want rigorous, sustained development grounded in embodied practice, alongside a cohort of like-minded, creative individuals. You want mentors who have been shaped by the work themselves, not just studied it, with real range across industries, clients, and years of practice. You sense there’s more available in how humans grow, change, heal, and transform, and you want to apprentice inside that territory, wherever you’re starting from.

Learning through experience and practice

How the Learning Happens

Practitioner growth does not happen through information alone. It happens through practice, observation, honest reflection, feedback, application, and sustained relationship. The Academy brings these dimensions together.
Learn Inside the Work Itself
You will coach, observe, practice, and examine what happens in real time. We will slow down pivotal moments and explore what the practitioner noticed, what they trusted, what choices were available, and what shaped the direction of the work.
Bring the Practitioner and the Craft Together
Your inner life is not separate from how you work with others. You will strengthen your ability to recognize your own patterns, remain grounded, use yourself responsibly, and bring more of your natural range to the work.
Receive Feedback Within a Sustained Relationship
You will not be left to interpret everything alone. Through teaching, labs, coaching, supervision, and mentorship, you will be seen and supported across the full arc of your development.
Work With Real Situations and Real Humans
Bring questions, client scenarios, business decisions, leadership moments, and places where you feel uncertain. What you learn will be connected to the work you are actually doing and the life you are actually living.
Integrate What You Learn Over Time
The six-month structure allows insight to be practiced, tested, refined, and embodied. New understanding has time to move beyond the session and become part of how you coach, lead, relate, choose, and create.

Everything you need to know

Program Logistics & Dates

The Practitioner’s Academy is a six-month virtual program running from September 2026 through March 2027. Each month includes teaching, live practice, integration, and space to bring the work into your own client sessions, leadership, and business.

All sessions will be recorded and available for replay. Because the retreats and labs center on live practice and interaction, real-time attendance is strongly encouraged. Additional attendance requirements apply to certification.

The full experience, thoughtfully supported

What’s Included

6-month immersive development program for coaches, facilitators, and practitioners who want to work with more depth and impact. You’ll learn the frameworks, methods, and practices we’ve built over 25+ years of transformational, embodied work. Not just what we do. How we think while we’re doing it, and why it works. Each month brings teaching, live practice, and space to bring what you’re learning into your own client work.
Opening 2-Day Virtual Retreat
We begin together, intentionally. This opening immersion is experiential and relational. A chance to drop in, connect as a cohort, and build the foundation that will carry us through the six months ahead.
Monthly 3-Hour Lab
In these 3-hour labs, we come together to integrate and practice what we’re learning. The labs will focus on what happens inside a client session, how to handle various client scenarios, how to support clients’ day-to-day integration and shifts, and bring authentic presence to your work and business. Labs include live coaching, collaborative reflection, and learning you can apply immediately.
Opportunity for One-on-One Coaching with Mentor Coaches
Participants will be given an opportunity for individual coaching with one of our mentor coaches in The Practitioner’s Apprenticeship. These are experienced practitioners receiving advanced supervision and development directly from us.
Certificate of Completion & Optional Certification
All participants who complete The Practitioner’s Academy will receive a Certificate of Completion, recognizing their participation in the full six-month program.

For those interested in a deeper level of practice and professional recognition, the Academy offers an optional certification pathway, included in the Academy tuition. This is a more comprehensive process designed to deepen your practice through real client experience, supervision, recorded-session review, direct feedback, and demonstrated development of the skills and principles shared in the Academy.

Certification is not based on attendance alone. It is an opportunity to have your work observed, reflected back to you, and refined over time.

Participants pursuing certification will complete:
30 documented coaching sessions, including at least 10 within a paid or formally contracted professional context; two individual supervision sessions, one with Aila and one with Barb; submission of recorded client sessions for review and feedback; required participation in Academy teaching, practice, and labs demonstration of the core practitioner capacities developed throughout the program. Those who successfully complete these requirements will receive the designation:
The Practitioner’s Academy Certified Practitioner
The Practitioner’s Academy certification is issued according to our own methodology and standards rather than through an external accrediting body.

2 Monthly Teaching Sessions
Each month, we gather twice for a 90-minute teaching session where you will learn the principles, frameworks, and real-time decisions behind transformational work. Sessions include teaching, live demonstrations, and an inside look at what we notice, why we choose a particular direction, and how to stay present to what is emerging.
Monthly Office Hour
Each month, we offer an optional 1-hour office hour. This is focused on real-time guidance and collaboration on any topic that would be helpful to your work, your learning, or your business practice.
Closing 2-Day Virtual Retreat
We end as we began — together. The closing retreat is a time to honor the journey, integrate what has shifted, and look at
what comes next.

About Aila & Barb

A Note from Aila & Barb…

We created The Practitioner’s Academy because we believe the world needs more practitioners who are fully alive in their work. People who carry the depth of genuine transformation into every room they enter, every client they serve, and every life they touch.

We have each been shaped by the kinds of relationships and containers we are offering here. We know what becomes possible when you stop navigating alone and place yourself in genuine proximity to people who see you clearly and are invested in your growth and your expression.

That is what we are offering: six months to be challenged, supported, stretched, and strengthened—not only in what you know, but in how you meet people, trust yourself, and bring your work into the world. If something in these pages feels alive or timely, we would be glad to explore it with you.

We would love to be part of what happens next.

With love,
Aila & Barb
