This last weekend I launched the first ever Beyond Limits Business Summit. It was a wonderful experience with amazing people. The speakers were incredible. They each shared their insights into business and leadership with heartfelt wisdom and clarity. The participants were engaged and impacted in a beautiful way. As you can imagine, I’m feeling very full and lots of gratitude for it all.
As I reflect, I am struck by the power of community and connection. One of the original inspirations for creating this summit was the idea of having a global community of like-minded business leaders and entrepreneurs looking together in the direction of our true nature, the quality of our mind & its connection to performance and doing well in work and life. What would be possible for us and for our lives if we could see that limitation is an illusion of thought and beyond that is a built-in intelligence that generates fresh thinking, new shifts, creative thinking and gives us what we need to rise to the occasion?
The result of SEEING this and EXPERIENCING it for ourselves is a game changer. It leads to real-world results and impact for business and life.
This last weekend we all touched that potential and possibility. We experienced a deeper knowing of the innate capacity we all have within. AND there is a profound aftereffect of looking together…CONNECTION.
In my early days of learning about the principles behind human performance, I heard someone say that connection is innate. It’s a constant, we just get lost or captured by our thinking and we feel separate.
In that moment I had the thought, “But for my thinking, I would FEEL connected all the time.”
We don’t DO connection – connection just IS.
This was the beginning of a new learning curve for me. It was the beginning of a new understanding of life and the richness of life. Over the coming years and even now, I continue to get more clues into the truth of this. The less we have on our minds, the more we naturally feel connected to ourselves, the deeper nature of life and to others.
The benefit of seeing this and experiencing it allows us to get touched by life and filled up in amazing ways. This creates a new ground to stand on. A new ground from which we can build our businesses and be with our family and friends.
This richness becomes new soil from which new fruit is born. New connections, new ideas, new relationships, new potential and new possibilities.
Connection has gone from a “nice to have” position in my mind to the “POINT”. It’s gone from soft and fluffy to the true leverage in everything.

When we look, we can’t help but see how this connection IS. It is a constant. It is what is alive at all times.
I once heard a preacher say, “I’m the mailman not the mail.” And I’ve heard someone else say, “We are the lamps, not the electricity.” Or “We are the faucets, not the water.” All of these seem to illustrate that there is something else that is constant and moving through us.
By getting more curious about what that is, we begin to have our own personal experience of it. Our own certainty and knowing of it emerges. That certainty and knowing helps us. It comes forward and gives us what we need along the way.
Perhaps you might be wondering, “What does this have to do with my business or my work in the world.” What if it has EVERYTHING to do with your business and work in the world?
This last weekend, we heard story after story from entrepreneurs and business leaders that have real evidence of what happens when we consider there is an innate, hard-wired, built-in capability within all of us. We heard business turn-around stories, we heard stories of culture change, leadership and sales excellence. While the stories were varied, they were each, in their own way, demonstrating the power that is available when an individual, a team and an organization sees this.
This connection fuels everything! This connection fills us and fuels us.
I’m incredibly grateful for the mentors, teachers and colleagues that have helped me understand the REAL source of performance, connection and well-being. The ability to look together within a community of others has been a huge gift.
