Conversations that Transform

I'm excited to share a new interview series called, Conversations that Transform. If you've ever visited my website or received a personal email from me, you know that “Conversations that Transform” is in my signature and is all over my site. It's been that way for almost ten years. That phrase has come to life even more vividly over the last nine months and is why I was inspired to start this series with the same name.

Conversations have been the heart of my work over the last 30 years. In fact, I'd say they are the heart of all of our work and lives. We are in conversations all day long, with family, friends, colleagues, clients, strangers, and even ourselves.

Conversations happen one at a time and over time can build bridges, build companies, build relationships, communities, and visions for change. Conversations can help us overcome challenges, misunderstandings and create common ground. Conversations can be a source of connection, intimacy, new understanding and love.

Last summer, after the death of George Floyd and the uprisings, I had a realization – I'd been on the sidelines of something that mattered to me. In that moment, I knew I had a lot of listening and learning to do. I knew that I wanted to do more, but I wanted that action to be aligned with wisdom.

Over the following months, conversations were – and continue to be – central to my growth, new insights, and meaningful connections.

Through conversations and taking in the lived experiences of others, I am changed.

When we listen to understand, we see each other, we see beyond our conditioned ideas and thinking, and get to the heart of the matter – to the heart of the person. We see our common humanity AND our unique individual expressions.

Through our presence and connection, conversations become a catalyst for new awareness, shifts of consciousness, aha moments, and a space where new possibilities emerge.

Allowing ourselves to be impacted by others' lived experiences is the source of reimagining a new future – new potential – for ourselves and our world. Our conversations are a vehicle for creating and sustaining that future.

The Conversations that Transform video series was created to hold space for these connections. To expand our hearts and minds via conversations. To expand our world by taking in the lived experiences of others. To transform and enrich our work and lives by lifting each other up.

These conversations are designed to foster insight, connection, and deep inclusion. It is a space to share our common humanity and connect to our common core. Human to human, soul to soul. A space that honors the dignity and value of every life.

Our first conversation is with guest, Sara Sanderson. Sara shares in a beautiful, vulnerable and honest way about recent insights that have allowed her to embrace her whole self more fully.
