In the 3rd installment of this 4-part video series, I share my own realization that I was missing out on opportunities for richer connections because of a misunderstanding. I had the wrong idea about what was required to be a good leader, coach, consultant and yes, even a good friend.

There were some things I was innocently doing that were getting in the way of my being able to connect more authentically with the people in my life. I’m a little embarrassed to say this, but I would have given myself an “A” in the area of connection. I thought I was doing a great job of it. Well, as you’ll see, there was more for me to learn.

I had to go beyond all those ideas I had and go back to zero. Once I saw what I was doing, and oriented myself in a new direction, I naturally fell into a more authentic and real connection with others.

When we fall into this space, we are more present, living in real-time, engaged in the moment and see where to go, what’s needed and overall, we have more impact.
