Could A Problem or Circumstance Be Pointing You To New Potential? | Blog
What Is The Deeper Invitation?
It’s time for a change, or change is already underway, but we don’t have a clear view of the future. What do we do?
Over the last year, I have found a richer exploration available when I get curious about “What is the deeper invitation here?” or “What wants to evolve?” rather than “How do I figure it out?”
Turning my thinking from “How do I fix this?” to “What’s opening up?” has been a gateway to new potential and finding the natural flow of the creative intelligence within.
We all have times in our lives and business when the old way no longer works for us. We may no longer have the desire or inspiration for the current path. We want to change, or change is imminent due to a change in circumstances.
These times can feel exciting and terrifying. We can be hopeful about a new potential and feel uncertain about what to do.
How do we go beyond the ups and downs of our thoughts and feelings to find our way? How do we tap into possibilities rather than drown in fear and doubt?
We look in the direction of what is innate. We look in the direction of our natural capacities to evolve, rise to the occasion, and the deeper intelligence and creative life force that runs through all of us.
What if current circumstances or the longing for change is an opportunity to enter the world of untapped potential? What if these circumstances or longings are your deeper intelligence’s way of evolving you?
Last year when things were shifting in my business, I was filled with anticipation and, at times, worry. Ultimately, when I would drop into the deeper intelligence within, and my mind would settle, I knew that all was ok. However, there were plenty of times when I would look at myself, see things shifting, not have clarity on what to do, and I would get worried that somehow things were going awry.
It was during one of these moments that I had a realization. I saw a belief, a thought, underneath the stirring of my mind. “I must stay on top of myself, or things will fall apart.”
If that was my starting point, then all my fears made sense. I couldn’t let go. I had to be vigilant to ensure I didn’t “get in my way.”
However, another question came through at that moment: “What is the deeper invitation? What wants to evolve in me?”
It was clear the invitation was for trust.
Trust in me and trust in life. Trust in the creative potential within to show me a new way. Trust that I didn’t have to prove myself to have good things happen. Trust that I didn’t have to be different than I was for new possibilities to open up. Trust that I could let go and that life would open up in new ways.
When I saw and felt this, I knew it was my real opportunity. This invitation was where my deeper intelligence was guiding me, and if I leaned into it, it would open new possibilities. This was a path worth taking.
The creative potential – the spark – within each of us is evolving us. There is always more freedom, clarity, and potential available to us.
Beneath the desire for change or the circumstance is an invitation.
What if what looks like the problem is, in fact, an opportunity for greater expansion, freedom, expression, and truth?
The current situation, the creative spark, the nudge, and the heart’s longing point us – with wisdom – to our evolution.
For me, the invitation was trust. In that trust, I would hear the signal of my deeper intelligence.
When we turn our vision away from the problem and circumstance, drop into the natural intelligence within, and follow its promptings, we hear what is meant for us. We hear the deeper opportunity.
We can trust the invitation. We can let what wants to evolve lead the way.
We are made to evolve. Creative potential is our nature.
These natural, innate capacities give us what we need to thrive.
What is the invitation for you? What wants to evolve in you?
